Within the gorgeous, rugged coastline, Porto Moniz is well known for its natural pools. It’s one of the most popular places on the Island among locals and the perfect place for an afternoon swim!
With 4.921 ft of altitude Paúl da Serra is known to be largest and most extensive plateau of Madeira and one of the most beautiful sights in the western part of the island. It has fabulous views over mountains, valleys, and the Atlantic ocean and it’s the starting point for many walking trails that will connect you to different points of the island through the Laurissilva forest.
Visit São Vicente Caves, created by an underground channel of lava from an eruption that occurred about 890 thousand years ago. They were the first volcanic caves to be opened to the public in Portugal and may be visited by following an underground route running for over 3 ft.
