porto-ribeira

The second largest city of Portugal is a charming one. Walking around the city, you will find many cute places to enjoy an afternoon snack, to simply relax, or to take lovely pictures. If you want to be sure to visit the coolest spots in town, you can take a tailor-made private tour, also avoiding that all the walking makes you feel tired and prevent you from visiting some places. If you are eager to spend some relaxing moments together, here are some things to do and places to go:

– Crystal Palace’s Gardens
Previously a sports place, it is now a huge green park, where you can walk side by side with a few animals, lay down and read a good book, or just sit and enjoy.

– Boat ride along the Douro river
At the riverfront you can get on a traditional boat, called “Rabelo” and do a 45 minutes cruise along the river. During this time you can enjoy the beautiful views of Oporto and learn some more about the 7 bridges that cross the river.

– Port Wine Cellars
Located on the other side of the river, in Vila Nova de Gaia. There, you can learn how the wine is made and also have the chance to delight yourself with a variety of port wine. If you choose to have a local guide with you, he’ll probably advise you about which cellars have the best wine, the smaller lines, or the best visit.
