A 16th Century Convent.
A 16th Century Fort that played a tactical role in reinforcing the Portuguese coastline, whipped by pirates from northern Europe and Africa. Currently operating as a Pousada de Portugal, it has a baroque chapel, covered with tiles, dated 1736, by Policarpo de Oliveira Bernardes, depicting scenes from the life of S. Filipe.
From its walls you’ll have the most breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the bay.
