Avenida dos Aliados

Aliados is Porto’s main avenue with more than 100 years of existence. The name comes from an alliance formed between England and Portugal in the fourteenth century. It’s surrounded by beautiful buildings, refined coffee shops, hotels and it’s also the home of the City Hall.

Oporto’s Catedral

The Cathedral of the city is a Roman Catholic Church built initially in the 12th century and remodeled in the 13th century in Romanesque/Baroque style by the architect Niccolò Nasoni, becoming the oldest and most important Romanesque monument in the country.

Church and Tower of the Clerics

Designed by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, in the 18th century, a masterpiece considered to be one of Oporto’s landmarks. One can walk up 225 steps to one of the best views of the city.

São Bento train station

The railway station of Oporto built in the 20th century is the most beautiful in the country. It has a glass and iron structure and it’s decorated with twenty thousand tiles that illustrate the evolution of the transportation and important events of Portuguese history and lifestyle.

Lello & Brother’s bookstore

Located in the heart of Oporto, is Portugal’s most famous bookstore. It was built in a Neo-Gothic architecture, with a fascinating interior staircase giving it a mysterious look. This bookstore became famous because of Harry Potter’s saga writer JK Rowling that used it as inspiration for the stairs of Hogwarts’ castle.

A street in the heart of Oporto, known for its lovely atmosphere, beautiful cafés, and shops.

Oporto’s Ribeira

It is the riverside area, declared a World Heritage Site of the UNESCO and the most characteristic area of the city, with its riverside colorful houses, small markets, and restaurants along the Douro River.

Dom Luis metal bridge

Designed by Théophile Seyrig, a disciple of Gustave Eiffel and inaugurated in 1886, it connects Oporto with Vila Nova de Gaia while crossing the Douro River.

Port wine Lodge

Port wine is internationally acclaimed for its quality and although it is produced in the Douro Valley, its cellars can be found in Vila Nova de Gaia.
You’ll have the opportunity to visit one and enjoy a wine tasting.
